Preston Hutt »» lead vocals, piano
"I have had to share my husband," says Preston’s wife, Sylvia, "He is
married to me and to music. As soon as he heard the pitch changes of my
new variable speed mixer, he came right over and used it in his
composition for a silent movie."
Songwriter/lead vocalist/pianist Preston Hutt is always experimenting and
expanding. He was first trained at the Royal School of Music in his native
London and has been playing the piano professionally since the age of
fourteen. Along with the classical piano, he has performed with
traditional and modern jazz, early rhythm and blues, dance, swing, rock,
new age and orchestral ensembles both in England and the United States.
The former PBS series Week Night Live
has featured Preston and his works, and he has composed the soundtrack for
several documentaries, including To Fly Without Wings narrated by
Orson Wells. New Music Baltimore, International Music Festival at UMBC,
Music in the Great Hall, Peabody Conservatory, and Towson University are
some of the other Baltimore venues that have features Preston’s
compositions. More recently, he has composed a sextet, "Interlace,"
written for the Music in the Great Hall’s thirteenth anniversary
celebration. This series has also performed Mr. Hutt’s "Entr’acte."
Preston's song writing never stops -- Sum of Each is only a sampling of his love affair with the
genres of music.

Richard
Presberry Jr. »» bass, backup vocals
Richard has been playing music since the

guitar players better than trumpet players."

skills along the way. After high-school he was lead singer/guitarist for
the band World of Difference. He now plays with Sum of Each and local band

Mark
Leppo »» drums
Mark began playing drums at an early age hitting
everything around the house with a pair of sticks. He began lessons
with Steve Ashcroft and continued with Dale Rauschenberg of Towson
University receiving his Performance in Music degree from Towson.
Mark
plays in a variety of musical styles, from country to rock, from jazz to
polka. Until his recent retirement, he spent fifteen years as an
adjunct music faculty member at Harford Community College.
Mark enjoys playing with "Sum of Each" due to the challenge of playing difficult music. "I like to see music
that is more than three chords and a slick chorus," Mark said. "Preston’s
music is musically interesting, yet still deep in thought." |
